For Middle Part, I divided three rooms in half with stanchions and their belts. Inside the stanchions themselves were a series of 12 field recordings of New York water, made together with my daughter Shiloh Blue. Their quiet sounds drew people inward, both physically and emotionally, while their form created division and inconvenience.
